Åland Swedish

Åland Swedish

Åland Swedish, "åländska", is a dialect of the Swedish language spoken by the people on the Åland island. Åland is, in contrary to its mother-country Finland, officially mono-lingual, so traces of Finnish language are scarce.

Åland Swedish contains similarities to Eastern Swedish as well as the historical dialects of Uppland.
