Thiruvanmiyur is a south-end place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Once unknown, this area is now an upcoming destination with Tidel Park being located nearby. The legendary Marundeeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is located here. Thiruvanmiyur also houses Kalakshetra, famous world over for the preservation, teaching and development of Indian culture, tradition, dance and art forms. The two main theatres in the area are the Jayanthi and the Theyagaraja situated on the LB Road just north of the intersection with Tiruvalluvar Salai.Thiruvanmiyur Beach is an attraction. Tons of people flock to it during evenings. Most people come there to have nice chat.

The beach line is 1 km from the East Coast Road (ECR). ECR leads to Mahabalipuram and Puducherry(Arabindo Ashram)
