Moberly Area Community College Established 1927 Type Public Students 2,938[1] Location Moberly, Missouri, United States Former names Moberly Junior College Mascot Greyhound Affiliations National Junior College Athletic Association Website macc.edu Moberly Area Community College is a two-year college based in Moberly, Missouri, United States in addition to the main campus MACC has six off-campus sites across a large portion of Northeastern and central Missouri. The college was founded in 1927 as Moberly Junior College.[2] In 2007 it enrolled approximately 3000 students.[1] The college is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.[3] In addition to the main campus in Moberly, the school operates campuses in Columbia, Edina, Hannibal, Kirksville, Mexico, Macon.
Athletics
MACC offers mens and women's basketball, competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1. The mens basketball team has won four NJCAA Championships—in 1954, 1955, 1966, and 1967. The latter two championships came under the direction of well-known college and pro basketball coach Cotton Fitzsimmons, who coached at MACC from 1958 to 1967.
