Atlanta Pilot Training (APT) is a pilot training school based at the DeKalb Peachtree Airport (PDK) in Atlanta, GA USA. APT is the only flying club owned flight school in the state of Georgia. APT offers training from a student level all the way up to and including the ATP or Airline Transport Pilot. Through its partnership with a local flight school, APT flies a Garmin GPS equipped fleet consisting of Cessna 172, Piper PA28, Evektor Light Sport Plus,Piper Arrow, Archer III and Super Decathlon aircraft. Equipped with the Avidyne , the Archer III is a technically advanced aircraft A Cessna 172, and Piper aircraft are equipped with WAAS GPS receivers that enable the user to fly approaches in low viability all the way down to the runway. Training is offered to legal residents of the USA as well as individuals who have been authorized by the TSA, Transportation Security Administrationto conduct pilot training.

History

Founded by a passionate Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), APT was created on January 10, 2005. Through the successes of the CFI, APT soon became a popular destination for those seeking to obtain their flying license. After the opportunity to move on to bigger and better things, APT was sold to the Centennial Aviation Club, where it still stands today.

Fleet

; Cessna 172: One of the most popular training aircraft, the 4 seat Cessna 172 is a very capable and inexpensive to get a license in.

; Piper PA28: A 160 to 200 horsepower, 4 seat trainer, the PA28 is a basic platform for Private as well as Instrument and other advanced instruction. There are 3 aircraft in the fleet that have the -28 designation.

; Piper Arrow: The Piper Arrow is a 200 horsepower complex (retract) aircraft that sports a 140 knot cruise with seating for 4.

; Super Decathlon: The historic Super Decathlon provides tail-wheel and aerobatic instruction.

; Evektor Light Sport Plus: A versatile and agile trainer that allows pilots to obtain the ever popular Light Sport Certificate. Cruise speed is 110 kts with seating for 2. The Evektor is also glass panel equipped.

; Flight Simulator: The flight simulator is a computer based simulator that is to train students working on advanced certifications.
