- Kawelomakualua
Kawelomakualua was the 17th
Alii Aimoku of Kauai . He ruled as titular King or chief ofKauai . He was borncirca .1655 . He was also called Kawelomakalua, in other sources. He was son of
Kawelomahamahaia , 16th Alii Aimoku of Kauai by his wife Kapohinakalani. He followed his father as Moi, the principal royal residence beign atWailua . He is mentioned in legends with almost equal veneration to that of his father and with the same lack of details. Kawelomakalua married his sister Kaawihikalani and had twin sonsKawelopeekoa andKaweloaikanaka . His offspring were of the Pio rank. These two could be compare to the Pio twins,Kamanawa andKameeiamoku , doubtlessly descendant from a later period. His son Kaweloainaka succeed him as king of Kauai.Reference
