Honeybourne First School is a Community Co-educational School, in Evesham, Worcestershire, England. The school currently has around 117 pupils aged 4-10 years.

Building

The building originally dates from the early nineteenth century, with a new classroom, disabled facilites and internal modifications added in the early 1990s. In 1994 a portable classroom was installed due to growing numbers. The school has a large playing field and play area, and a tarmac area for both summer and winter use. A conservation area including two ponds and a chequerboard garden have also been added. Other outdoor facilities include a playstructure, a willow sculpture and a pen for small animals.

Description

Honeybourne First School is a small school, with nearly all pupils being White British. The school has been described as 'a warm family atmosphere, with an extensive range of clubs, visits, visitors and good pastoral care'.

Curriculum

Since its introduction by the Education Reform Act 1998, the National Curriculum has been implemented in prescribed stages, set out by the Government. As part of the National Curriculum, children are assessed by national tests at the end of KS1 (year 2).

Honeybees Nursery

Honeybees Nursery (run by Susan Riach) is a Nursery located on the school grounds of Honeybourne First School. The school is closely associated with staff from Honeybee Nursery, and receive records of children who have attended there before joining Honeybourne First School.

Foundation Stage Assessment takes place every term and results are discussed with parents. Children progress naturally from the Early Learning Goals to the National Curriculum, which all pupils follow from Year One.
