Electoral district of Barambah

Electoral district of Barambah

Barambah was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland from 1950 to 2001.

The district was based in the South Burnett region. It is best known for seating long serving Premier Joh Bjelke-Peterson.

Barambah was created in 1950 to replace the abolished district of Nanango. Fittingly, when Baramba was abolished in 2001, its replacement seat was also named Nanango.
