Ernesto C. Enkerlin Hoeflich (b. 14 December 1958 in Monterrey, Nuevo León) is a prominent Mexican conservationist and researcher specialized in parrots' ecology and biodiversity stewardship. His efforts at the National Commission on Natural Protected Areas of Mexico, which he presides since 2001, have been distinguished with the 2005 Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation by UNESCO.

Enkerlin holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Zootechnics Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM, 1980) and a doctorate degree from Texas A&M University at College Station (1995). As a conservationist, Professor Enkerlin has worked for several NGOs and co-founded "Pronatura Noreste" before joining the National Commission on Natural Protected Areas by presidential appointment. During his tenure, the Commission has incorporated five new sites to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves and has protected more than 52 wetlands under the Ramsar Convention.
