Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is the local authority for the Welwyn Hatfield non-metropolitan district of England, the United Kingdom. Welwyn Hatfield is located in the centre of Hertfordshire, in the East of England region. The Council itself is based in Welwyn Garden City, the largest settlement in the district.

The Council consists of 48 elected members, representing seventeen electoral wards. 14 of the wards elect three councillors each. Three elect only two.

The Council is currently controlled by the Conservatives, who hold 39, or 81%, of the 48 seats. Labour hold six seats and the Liberal Democrats hold three.
