ALFA is a Mexican company comprised of four business groups: Alpek (petrochemicals), Nemak (aluminum auto components), Sigma (refrigerated food) and Alestra (telecommunications).

ALFA is the world’s leading manufacturer of high-tech aluminum engine heads and blocks. It is one of the world’s largest producers of PTA, a petrochemical product, and has a leading market share in other petrochemicals in Mexico. Also, ALFA is the Mexican leader in the production of processed meats and cheese and one of the most important telecommunications service companies in Mexico.

In 2007, ALFA reported revenues of $106,833 million (U.S. $9.6 billion), including foreign sales of U.S. $5.2 billion, and assets of $99,331 million (U.S. $9.1 billion). Currently, ALFA has manufacturing operations in 16 countries and employs more than 50,000 people. ALFA shares are quoted on the Mexican Stock Exchange and on Latibex, the market for Latin American shares of the Madrid Stock Exchange.

ALPEK is the largest private petrochemical group in Mexico and one of the most important in Latin America. In the NAFTA region, Alpek is the largest manufacturer of expandable polystyrene (EPS), the second-largest manufacturer of PTA, and the fourth-largest maker of PET. Alpek is the only polypropylene manufacturer in Mexico.

NEMAK is the world’s leading manufacturer of high technology gas-and diesel-engine aluminum heads and blocks. Nemak has the most complete technological platform in its industry. Its success is based on its high product quality, excellent service, cost competitiveness, speed to launch new products, and global supply capacity.

SIGMA is the largest processed meats and cheese manufacturer in Mexico and a significant participant in the Central American, Caribbean, and U.S. Hispanic market. Sigma markets its products through brands that have been preferred by consumers for more than 50 years. In addition, it operates the industry’s largest refrigerated distribution network in Mexico.

ALESTRA is one of the most important telecommunications services companies in Mexico. Alestra provides connectivity solutions, voice & data and Internet services, and convergence solutions for users of every type and industry. The Alestra network enables seamless access to the AT&T Global Network.
