The 33 and 63A are two bus routes in the West Midlands and Staffordshire areas of the United Kingdom.

Present

Service 33 operates between Walsall and Hednesford on weekdays and Saturdays and is operated by Arriva Midlands. There is no evening service. On Sundays it operates between Hednesford and Norton Canes. This service is operated by A2Z Travel on a Subsidised basis. There are also several shortened workings throughout the day between Brownhills and Walsall, Cannock and Walsall and Cannock to Norton Canes.

Service 63A, which is operated under contract to Centro, only operates on evenings and on Sundays linking Walsall with Brownhills West. Both routes follow the same route between Walsall and the terminus of the 63A, with some slight variations.

Future

No changes are due.

History

Prior to the 25th May 2008, 3 bus routes operated along the present 33 and 63A routes; These were the 63 between Walsall and Norton Canes, the 33 between Hednesford and Brownhills and the 63A between Hawk Green and Walsall, all run by Arriva Midlands.

When the 33 was extended, it replaced the 63 journeys at a more regular frequency. This was to the delight of the residents of Norton Canes as just 12 months earlier were fighting to keep a service serving their village following the withdrawal of National Express West Midlands services 396A and 396C.

In September 2008, A2Z Travel won the contract to operate the Sunday 33 Service.
