Recent colombian corruption scandals

Colombia has had many corruption scandals in the recent years. Many of them are related to the conflict that affects the country for 50 years.

8000 Process

The 8000 Process (Proceso 8000 in Spanish) was the legal investigation to the events that happened in the middle-1990s, when the president of Colombia, Ernesto Samper, was accused of receiving money from druglords to his electoral campaign.

Parapolitics Scandal

The parapolitics scandal is the name given to the recent discovery of many links between politicians and paramilitars. Many supporters of Álvaro Uribe's government are involved in this scandal.

Farcpolitics Scandal

Similar to the parapolitics scandal, the farcpolitics scandal is the discovery of links between politicians and the FARC. This scandal does not only involves Colombian opposition politicians, but also involves Venezuela and Ecuador governments, as well as a senator of the United States and many important people.

Yidispolitics Scandal

Is the scandal that was caused by declarations of the Colombian ex-representant, Yidis Medina, in which she claims that Colombian government offered her important jobs and money if she voted for the approval of Uribe's reelection.
