"Remijia" is a genus in tribe "Cinchoneae" in the Rubiaceae and is native to Peru and Brazil. Bark of "Remijia" contains 0,5 - 2 % of quinine. The bark is cheaper than bark of "Cinchona" and it has an intensive taste so it is used for making of tonic water.Henry Hobhouse (2004) "Šest rostlin, které změnily svět".
