"The Banker" is an English-language monthly international financial affairs publication owned by "The Financial Times Ltd" and edited in London. The magazine was first published in January of 1926 through founding Editor, Brendan Bracken, who went on to become the chairman of the Financial Times from 1945-1958. . The "magazine" is a publication of The Financial Times Business Institutional group. It is one of three divisions of the FT Business group, which also include Retail Finance and Personal Finance publications. The FT Business group is a subsidiary of The Financial Times (the pink paper), which is owned by Pearson PLC. In addition to its own educational publishing, Pearson PLC also owns The Economist.

Features

The "The Banker Awards" is an annual awards event recognizing the top financial institutions in the world. According to the Banker website, in the 2007 Banker Awards, more than 143 countries were acknowledged for their achievements and over 100 countries were represented at the ceremony. "Katrinas Column" is a monthly stable that includes interviews with global executives such as Willie Walsh, the CEO of British Airways; John Varley, the CEO of Barclays Bank and Recap Erdogan, the Prime Minister of Turkey.
