Aaron's rod (disambiguation)

Aaron's rod (disambiguation)

Aaron's rod refers to any of:

* Aaron's rod, any of the staffs carried by Moses' brother Aaron
* In Gothic architecture, an ornament consisting of a rounded molding decorated by a single entwined serpent and sometimes vines and leaves
* "Aaron's Rod" (novel), a book by D. H. Lawrence
* Common Mullein, a biennial plant ("Verbascum thapsus") with medicinal uses and tall flowering stems
* Goldenrod, a genus of North American plants with yellow flowers

The name derives from Biblical passages referring to the rod borne by the patriarch Aaron, notably one in which it "put forth buds, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds" — Numbers 17:8 (King James Version).
