New Omaha Ballpark

New Omaha Ballpark

New Omaha Ballpark is a description of a new stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, that is currently in the planning stages. It will be primarily used for baseball and will be the home of the College World Series after the NCAA signed an agreement to keep the CWS in Omaha until 2035 if the ballpark was built. It may also be the home of the Omaha Royals of the Pacific Coast League, but the city and club have not finalized a deal. The ballpark will have a capacity of 24,000 people, with the ability to expand to 35,000 spectators, and open in 2011. It will replace Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium as the home of the Royals and CWS. The ballpark will cost $140 million to construct and will be located near the Qwest Center Omaha.
