Potbrood

Potbrood or “Pot Bread” is bread traditionally made by the Boer Settlers. This bread was traditionally baked in a cast iron pot in a pit made in the ground. The pit was then lined with hot coals.

Today Potbrood is often made at a Braai, by packing charcoal or wood coals around the pot.

Potbrood is best enjoyed with real butter.
