Jocelyn Angloma (born August 7, 1965 in Abymes, Guadeloupe) is a French-Guadeloupean football defender currently playing for a Guadeloupean club, L'Etoile de Morne-à-l'Eau.

He is fluent in French, Creole patois, English, Italian and Spanish.

European career

For France, Angloma played 37 times, scoring a goal, and was part of the squad at Euro 92 and Euro 96. He was a member of Marseille team which won the 1993 UEFA Champions League. He played more than 400 games in European first divisions, including 120 appearances with Valencia in Spain, where he played until his retirement in 2002. He played in the UEFA Champions League Finals of 2000 and 2001 for them, but was twice on the losing side.

Comeback with Guadeloupe

In 2006, Angloma came out of retirement to play for his native région, Guadeloupe, and help it successfully qualify for the 2007 Caribbean Nations Cup. After his return from retirement, Angloma moved from his natural position as a right back and played as a midfield playmaker for Guadeloupe. In the finals in Trinidad and Tobago, Angloma scored on an 85th-minute free kick to give Guadeloupe a shock 2-1 victory over favorites Cuba in the opening match of group play. Guadeloupe subsequently finished fourth after Cuba gained revenge with a 2-1 victory in the third-place match. By finishing fourth, Guadeloupe qualified for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States, the first time Guadeloupe had qualified for the Gold Cup.

At the Gold Cup, Angloma scored the opener with an angled, volleyed 25-yard lob in Guadeloupe's 2-1 upset over past Gold Cup winner Canada on June 9, 2007 at the historic Miami Orange Bowl. He also scored the first goal in Guadeloupe's 2-1 quarterfinal win over Honduras on June 17, 2007 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
