Indigo Lodges

Indigo Lodges SA is a Swiss company, headquartered in Geneva, which organises holidays for the world’s wealthiest clients in luxury villas and chalets. The company has operations in 18 countries and employs approximately 55 professionals.

History

Indigo Lodges was founded by Ivan Sellers in 2002.

The business was initially focused on finding luxury properties in the Alps for wealthy clients that wanted both excellent chalet accommodations and discerning services. Since the high-end villa and chalet business at this time was fairly new, clients needed to speak to someone who could best advise them on the ideal resort, property and services for them. Indigo Lodges very quickly developed a reputation for objective advice and expanded its range to include summer villas, setting up operations in numerous countries to be able to also respond to clients speaking other languages than English.

Indigo Lodges currently services the 15 principal Alpine ski resorts and 45 leading summer resorts. As the business of the company has expanded, the focus has shifted from just finding and recommending villas to ensuring the highest levels of quality in the industry, both in terms of the properties and in terms of the services provided. In fact, Indigo Lodges now guarantees the lodging and service in the properties that it manages something that has never before been done in the villa market.

Concept

Indigo Lodges searches for private properties around the world that stand out for their architecture, design, and location. Most are located in internationally known and sought after resorts but some are in remote natural areas. The villas can be contemporary or traditional but must have a strong coherence in their interior decoration and an excellent finish. Properties come in all sizes from 1 bedroom to 23 bedrooms and with varying sizes of terrain. The company's objective is to make sure there is something available for every taste and for up to at least 12 persons where possible.

To ensure that clients benefit the most from their holidays, Indigo Lodges also seeks out, trains, and supplies butlers and chefs to staff these properties. The emphasis is on personnel that is attentive but discrete: the service should not be seen or heard but only experienced in the most enjoyable manner. Daily cleaning is always included and the properties are run to the standards of each client: service will be formal or less formal as appropriate.

Indigo Lodge’s clients are primarily from Europe. They are among the world’s most sophisticated and wealthy travelers and often are owners themselves for the types of houses they rent on holiday. They trust Indigo Lodges to manage their holidays and to ensure their family and friend’s experience.

Villas

Indigo Lodges’ current portfolio consists of over 150 winter properties and 250 summer villas.

Summer resorts include the Côte d’Azur, Sardinia, the Balearics, Tuscany, Sicily, Greece and Portugal. Winter resorts include the French, Swiss, Austrian and Italian Alps, including St. Moritz, Courchevel 1850, Kitzbühl, Zermatt, Megève, Verbier, Gstaad and Chamonix.

All of the homes in Indigo Lodges’ portfolio belong to private owners that choose to rent them for different reasons and for different lengths of time. Some owners only rent two or three weeks per year, others for the entire year; some are available for viewing on the internet while others and do not appear in any promotional materials. A typical property in the Indigo Lodges’ portfolio is worth €5 -10 million, with 10% of the portfolio worth in excess of €20 million. Many of the company’s properties have been photographed by such high end publications as Cote Sud, Vogue, Elle Décor and Architectural Digest.
