DFDS LISCO GmbH situated in Kiel is the German branch of the Lithuanian shipping company AB DFDS LISCO.AB DFDS LISCO operates 5 lines with 7 ferries for passengers and freight connecting Germany to Lithuania, Latvia and Russia as well as Germany to Sweden. The parent company is the Danish shipping company DFDS A/S based in Copenhagen, which has generally concentrated on freight and passenger traffic on the North Sea (and to a lesser extent the Baltic Sea).

DFDS LISCO GmbH is responsible for freight and passenger sales and marketing in the German market and Germany's neighbour countries.

DFDS A/S reported on 17 January 2008 that they had bought a 600 passenger and 2500 lanemeter ro-pax vessel from Grimaldi Ferries. The vessel in being built at Nuovi Cantieri Apuania (Italy). It is expected to start its service in May 2009 on the Kiel-Klaipeda route.
