Trixter is a glam metal band formed in Paramus, New Jersey in 1983 by guitarist Steve Brown and lead vocalist Peter "Pete" Loran.

History

Early years

Trixter was originally managed by Shark Management, which was founded by Ken Makow (now a web media consultant and designer) and Joel Weinshanker, currently CEO of the National Entertainment Collectibles Association.

The band's self-titled debut album, "Trixter", attained gold status, reaching #28 on the Billboard 200 in 1990 and spawned three minor hit singles: "Surrender" (#72), "One in a Million" (#75), and "Give It to Me Good" (#65). Despite the fact that none of the singles made the Top 40 or garnered much radio airplay, the videos for all three tunes were in heavy rotation on MTV (especially "Give It to Me Good", which was #1 on the channel for several weeks.) Trixter's second album, " [Hear!] ", was released in 1992, but was not as successful on MTV or in record shops.

Later years

They stated on VH1's "Top 40 Hair Band Countdown" that their goal was to play the arena near their hometown, Continental Airlines Arena, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They achieved this when Trixter opened for the Scorpions in 1991.

The band recorded an EP of cover songs, "Undercovers", in 1994, which garnered little commercial success. In 1995, when Mark "Gus" Scott left Trixter, he was replaced by Mike Luciano. Trixter broke-up shortly after that.

ide projects

Today, the former Trixter members are working on various solo projects, while drummer Mark "Gus" Scott owns a successful restaurant in Florida, New York. Peter "Pete" Loran released a solo album in 2000. P. J. Farley is currently the bassist for the band RA. Steve Brown is currently the guitarist/lead vocalist of Stereo Fallout and was in two previous bands to feature P. J. Farley which were Throwan Rocks and 40 Ft. Ringo. Steve and P. J. also played in a New Jersey based cover band called Sugarbelly.

Recent events

Steve Brown announced on December 1, 2007 that Trixter will be reuniting in 2008 for the Give It to You Good Tour. In 2008, Peter "Pete" Loran called the 2 Music Geeks and discussed Trixter's 2008 touring plans and the production of a new live album. [2 Music Geeks.
