Arab World (MENA) Song Contest

The Arab World (MENA) Song Contest is the Arab version of the highly popular Eurovision Song Contest.

On 7 December 2007, Nibras Media Ltd. a very well known production company in the region won the rights to produce an Arab version of Eurovision Song Contest.

It has been unconfirmed what date the first Arab song Contest will take place on, but Svante Stockselius, executive supervisor of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said on the 19th May 2008 that a (MENA) version of the Eurovsion Song Contest was close.

Another major factor which remains undecided is the host city of the contest, Nibras Media Ltd. does have studios in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Cairo (Egypt), Amman (Jordan), Beirut (Lebanon) and Damascus (Syria)

The following contries will be eligible to enter the first Arab World Song Contest:Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Some of these countries have shown interest in entering the first Arab world (MENA) Middle East and North Africa Song Contest.
