Established in 2003, "“Neutral Tandem”", Inc. provides voice, data and video interconnection services worldwide to wireless carriers, cable companies and CLECs. Headquartered in Chicago, Neutral Tandem is a public company and traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol TNDM [1].

History

  • In 2003, Neutral Tandem created the first independent tandem network. This network streamlined the way wireless, cable, CLEC and broadband telephony companies routed local transit traffic between one another.
  • In 2006, Neutral Tandem installed a national IP backbone and extended its reach by interconnecting 179 markets.
  • In 2008, Neutral Tandem began offering terminating switched access services and originating switched access services, which are provided in connection with long distance calls.
  • June 2010 – Neutral Tandem named no. 2 on Crain’s Fast 50 (fastest-growing companies by five-year revenue growth).
  • October 2010- Neutral Tandem completes acquisition of Tinet SpA, an Italian-based global carrier exclusively committed to the IP Transit and Ethernet wholesale market.
  • As of December 31, 2010, Neutral Tandem’s network billed minutes of 108.5 billion in 2010, an increase of 23.5% over 2009; and experienced revenue of $199.8 million in 2010, an increase of 18.3% compared to $168.9 million in 2009.
  • February 2011- Neutral Tandem named no. 2 on Forbes’ annual Top 25 Fastest Growing Technology Companies in America.
  • April 2011- Neutral Tandem company launches a new product that delivers end-to-end global Ethernet solutions, 'EtherCloud' [2].
  • September 2011-Neutral Tandem ranks no. 59 on Fortune Magazine’s 2011 list of “100 Fastest-Growing Companies"
