Most Ancient European Towns Network

The Most Ancient European Towns Network is a working group of the oldest cities in Europe. It was founded in 1994, with the idea coming from the town of Argos, Greece presented to the European Union. The group's goal was to be a way of discussing issues about the towns, such as archaeological research, tourism and incorporating of monuments into urban ρlanning.

Members

The members include the following cities. The chairmanship of the group rotates between the members.[1][2]

The first meeting was held on 22–26 June 1994.
