New York New Jersey Rail reporting mark|NYNJ is a Class III railroad that operates the only railroad car float operation on New York Harbor between Jersey City, New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York.

Formerly the New York Cross Harbor Railroad reporting mark|NYCH from 1983 to 2006, NYNJ serves businesses on both sides of the harbor with daily crossings between Jersey City, New Jersey, and Brooklyn, New York. The trip takes 45 minutes to cross the harbor as compared to shipping overland via CSX's Selkirk Terminal which can take up to five days per round trip on account of interchange delays between connecting railroads.

NYNJ operates from its 27 acre Greenville Terminal Yard in Greenville, Jersey City and its six-acre Bush Terminal Yard, terminus of the Bay Ridge Branch in Brooklyn. On the west side of New York Harbor, NYNJ interchanges rail cars destined for the CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern railroads at Conrail Shared Assets Operation's Oak Island interchange yard.

On the east side of the harbor, NYNJ interchanges rail cars with the New York and Atlantic Railway in Brooklyn for railroad cars whose destinations are Long Island, the northeast United States or Canada. NYNJ also connects with the New York City Transit subsidiary South Brooklyn Railway. NYNJ offers dockside and ship-side delivery and is able to handle high and wide cargo, as well as other special commodities.
