Taken captive by the Germans in the afterward of the battle, he was released after the end of the war; chief of camp for the Japanese prisoners of war in Siberia in 1946-1947. Afterwards according to to official Soviet data he moved toKrasnodar , according to independent reports - he was arrested and condemned for "being taken captive" (seeOrder No. 270 ) and spent ten years inGulag .
