Escape from Hell is the sequel to "Inferno", the 1976 Hugo Award- and Nebula Award-nominated book by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. According to a full-page advertisement in the back of the paperback edition of the Niven collaboration Fleet of Worlds, released in paperback in September 2008, Carpentier will team up with Sylvia Plath, becoming a modern-day Christ who will harrow Hell and free the damned.
