Southern Conference Baseball Tournament

Southern Conference Baseball Tournament

The Southern Conference Baseball Tournament is the conference championship tournament in baseball for the Southern Conference. The winner of the tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.

Tournament

The Southern Conference Baseball Tournament is a ten team tournament held annually at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, SC. All ten teams in the conference participate in the tournament. Teams are seeded #1 through #10 based on their regular season record. The lowest four seeds (#7 - #10) compete in a single elimination first round. The winners go on to the next round where the bracket becomes a more traditional two-bracketed double-elimination tournament. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The other teams have to hope for an at-large bid.

History

The Southern Conference Baseball Tournament began in 1984 as a four team tournament.
