Sandy, Carmarthenshire

Sandy, Carmarthenshire

Sandy is an area in the county of Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales, on the western border of Llanelli town, about 5 miles east of Burry Port.

Sandy is home to the Sandy Water Park, a large project which saw acres of industrial land returned to parkland and a lake. This park is now part of the more recent Millennium Coastal Park.

Sandy is adjacent to the Stradey area, which contains the famous Stradey Park, home to Llanelli RFC and the Llanelli Scarlets.

In 2008/09 the Scarlets will move to a new purpose-built stadium in Pemberton. [http://www.scarlets.co.uk/stadium/]
