Emmaus College is a Coeducational Catholic secondary college which serves the middle eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The school has a Junior Campus (Years 7-10) in Vermont South [ [http://www.emmaus.vic.edu.au/locations_junior.htm] Junior campus location] and a VCE campus in Burwood [ [http://www.emmaus.vic.edu.au/locations_senior.htm] VCE campus location ] . It has a population of around 1100 students and slowly growing. Emmaus College is a member of the EISM Sporting Association (joined in 1989).

History

Emmaus College was established in February, 1980 through the merger of St Thomas More College in Vermont South (1969-1979) and Chavoin College in Burwood (1966-1979). Emmaus College was the first co-educational secondary college in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to be formed from the merging of an all-boys school with an all-girls school. VCE results:

In 2007, Emmaus College achieved a 100% pass rate and all Year 12 students were qualified for tertiary entrance. Median Study Score was 32 (state's average is 30) and 10% of Year 12, 2007 Emmaus College students gained a study score of 40 or over. Using these figures, in 2007 Emmaus College was placed in the top 16% of all Victorian Secondary Schools and was the best performed class for a Victorian Catholic co-educational school.
