Dominic is a male name. Translated from Latin it means "Of Our Lord" or "Belonging to God". Variations include: Dominik, Dominick, Domenic, Domenico, Domanic, Domonic, Domingos and the unisex but usually feminine Dominique ('Dominique' is a Francophone unisex name widely used for men in France and its colonies).

Saint Dominic founded a well-known order of monks. The name, meaning Lord, is sometimes used to reference Sunday (the Lord's day). The feminine variation of Dominique (French) is used for as a unisex name.^[1]
