Altuğ Taner Akçam (born October 23 1953) is a Turkish historian and sociologist. He is one of the first Turkish academics to acknowledge and openly discuss the Armenian Genocide. [cite web

Biography

Akçam was born in Ardahan, Turkey to Dursun and Perihan Akçam. [Şişli State Head Prosecutor, [http://www.chgs.umn.edu/histories/turkishArmenian/suspectStatement.pdf Suspect’s Statement Form] .
