Summit Entertainment, LLC is an independent American film studio founded by Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger in 2007. With a financing deal led by Merrill Lynch and other investors, the new studio was created with access to over $1 Billion for development, production, acquisition, marketing, and distribution. In addition, the LLC acquired Summit Entertainment LP, which had been a production, distribution, and sales organization since the late 1990's, effectively taking its prior form and adding a major marketing and acquisitions branch.
