Acenes

Acenes is the title of the annual yearbook publication at West Seneca West Senior High School in West Seneca, New York. First published in 1950, the book includes highlights from the previous school year as well as student portraits. Recently, Volume 58 was successfully published in 2008 as the first full color edition of the book, whereas in the past just the beginning section was in color.

Name Origin

The name Acenes comes from the name of the Indian tribe, Seneca, from which the town is named after spelled backwards. Pronounced A-See-Nays.

Senior Editors

The senior editor is the editor-in-chief of the Acenes yearbook. He/She is the individual in charge of the entire production including design, theme, copy, contests, staff and sale. Though the senior editor is second to the advisor, the adviosr rarely steps in to disapprove a decision.
