History
Opened by the
Newcastle and Carlisle section of theYork, Newcastle and Berwick Railway it became part of theLondon and North Eastern Railway during the Grouping of 1923, passing on to theEastern Region of British Railways during thenationalisation of 1948. It was then closed by theBritish Railways Board .The site today
