The Temple

The main deity here is Lord Vishnu in the form of Srinivasar and his consort Vanchulavalli thaayaar.

This temple was built by Ko Chenkannan, the Chola King, at the place where they married, according to the legend. In this temple Nachiyar (thayar) gets the primary importance. Devotees will be able to see that Vishnu stays at an arm's length from Thayar.

Kal Garudar

Kal Garudar which is the vahana for this temple. Here Garuda has the capability to cure the Navagraha doshas. As legend says, Garudar increases weight during Purapaadu (procession). Near the sanctum, the procession starts with 4 people lifting Garuda and the number of people keep doubling up as the procession proceeds.
