The Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) is a group of Formula One teams that was formed at a meeting in Maranello on 29 July 2008.[cite web|url=http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns20610.html |title= Formation of FOTA |work= grandprix.com |accessdate= 2008-07-31 ] ]The association consists of the following teams, all of which compete in the 2008 Formula One season.
This new organisation gives the teams a united voice in their ongoing discussions with the FIA and The Formula One Group regarding the future of Formula One. Headed by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo,[cite web|url=http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns20613.html |title= Montezemolo heads FOTA |work= grandprix.com |accessdate= 2008-07-31 ] the first task of FOTA will be to negotiate the terms of the new Concorde Agreement, the commercial contract which governs the championship. The group will also discuss the proposal to the FIA for the Formula One regulations for the 2011 season. Leading technical director of the Honda F1 team, Ross Brawn, has offered his services to co-ordinate this activity.
