The Society is located at 657 Mission Street in San Francisco. It houses one of the largest collections of LGBT artifacts in the United States, including some 200 boxes of material donated by early lesbian activists Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon. In 2006, the Society created its own YouTube channel for the purpose of disseminating historical film and video footage. [cite news
