Sivakumar is a popular Tamil film actor. He is the father of actor Surya. He is well known for his artistic skills.

Sivakumar is commonly considered as "ever-youthful hero" of Tamil cinema (Tamil Thiraiyulaga Margandeyan) for he acted as the hero in many of his films even in his advancing age. He has starred in very popular Tamil movies (for instance,Sindhu Bhairavi)and remains a legend in Kollywood.He has also acted in popular tele-serials like Chithi and Annamalai. He has recently received life-time-achievement award in the 54th filmfare award, awarded by his own sons.

* Film critics believe that Sivakumar has paired with large number of heroines on silverscreen and ranks next to Sivaji Ganesan in this aspect.However , he has not entangled himself in any rumours with any heroine . He has acted as lover/husband of heroines like Jayalalitha, ,Lakshmi,Sujatha,Srividya,SriPriya,Sumithra,Shoba,Radha,Ambika,Jayashree,Rathi Agnihotri,Radhika,Saritha,Deepa,Jayabarathi,Suhasini,Sulakshana,Nalini,Poornima Jeyaram, K.R. Vijaya, etc.

* His great performance in "Marupakkam" got him nominated for Best Actor at National level but the award finally went to Amitabh.

* Generally he has never acted without moustache except in Devotional/religious films ; But one exception is "Poovum Puyalum"in which he has acted as a doctor without moustache.

* The only film he acted in a villainish role was Bhuvana Oru Kaelvikkuri ; film critics felt that it was ironical because Rajnikanth who used to act as villain in his early days played the hero role in this movie.
