Alan Johnson is a British intellectual and professor.

Career

Johnson is professor of political theory at Edge Hill University. [ http://www.guardian.co.uk/global/2007/jun/03/alanjohnson] He is a scholar of the labor movement in Iraq. [http://info.edgehill.ac.uk/SPSNewsletter/article.asp?id_art=24] He is an editor of the journals "Democratiya" and "Engage Journal", the former of which he also helped found. http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/alanjohnson] He is a founding member of the human rights organization Labour Friends of Iraq. Political positions

Johnson is a co-author of Unite Against Terror [http://www.unite-against-terror.com/] and of the Euston Manifesto [http://eustonmanifesto.org/joomla/] . Johnson was opposed to the invasion of IraqFact|date=August 2008. Since 2003, he has worked with Abdullah Muhsin of the Iraqi Workers Federation.
