It is based in Luverne, Alabama and launched on DirecTV April 23, 2008. It gained additional coverage on cable and broadcast systems before launching on DISH in Jan 2011. Its tag line is "IT'S A WAY OF LIFE". The channel's co-founders are Rusty Faulk/CEO, and business partner Merrill Sport/COO, who also launched Rusty Faulk Outdoors in 1992. Rusty Faulk Outdoors is one of the longest running outdoor series in the country. According to its website, Pursuit is currently delivered to over 37 million viewers, over 20 million of them being DirecTV 608 customers.[1] and 14 million on DISH Network 240. The remainder of the viewers are various cable and broadcasting stations.

Satellite
Pursuit Channel is available nationwide in the basic packages on both on DirecTV-channel 608, Dish Network-channel 240, and C-Band via Satellite AMC-18.
Cable
On cable, it is available on Troy Cablevision in Troy, Alabama and Luverne, Alabama, and on the cable systems that carry its broadcast affiliates. It is also available on Cox Cable, AT&T Uverse, and Charter Cable in certain parts of Louisiana.[1]
Broadcast stations
Pursuit Channel is also available on some broadcast stations. Most of them are either Class A or low power stations which only carry the channel part time in conjunction with other small networks or local programming. Some of these stations are also former affiliates of competitor The Sportsman Channel, which is no longer available over-the-air.
