Andrew Peach

Andrew Peach (born in Walsall, West Midlands) is a radio broadcaster and newsreader in the UK.

His news and phone-in shows can be heard on BBC Radio Berkshire on weekdays from 7-10am.

He also presents programmes on BBC WM in the West Midlands on Sunday mornings from 7am.

Each week he appears with Jonathan Ross, Dermot O'Leary, Russell Brand and Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 where he reads news bulletins.

Although he was born in Walsall, West Midlands and now lives in Oxfordshire.

He was educated at Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall and St Edmund Hall, Oxford.

He won the Silver World Medal as Best News Anchor at the New York Radio Festival in 2007. He was recognised at the Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2002, 2005 and 2007 and was named BBC Local Radio Presenter of the Year in 2005.

Andrew is a patron of Thames Hospicecare which runs hospices in Windsor and Ascot.

He grew up supporting Aston Villa and is also a fan of Reading FC. Reading Captain Graeme Murty appears on his BBC Radio Berkshire show every Monday morning from 8am.

His close friends include television newsreader Jane Hill and sailor Hilary Lister.

Podcasts

The most innovative point of Peaches show is his “podcast” section, which was nominated for a Europian Radio Award in 2007 [Broadcast Magazine, 18/09/2007] for his boxing day episode where he phoned ex Berkshire resident Chris Buckett to see how he was coping one year on from the South East Asian tsunami. Other memorable podcasts were the first ever “podcast” to Tim Dellor and another to his close personal friend Ricky Gervais whom he met when doing an interview for Radio Berkshire about the success of The Office.
