Busiest airports in the United States by total passenger boardings

The table below shows the 50 busiest commercial airports in the United States of America by order of total passengers boarded in 2006, according to statistics published by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) [ [http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/airports/planning_capacity/passenger_allcargo_stats/passenger/media/cy06_primary_np_comm.pdf Federal Aviation Administration 2006 passenger boarding statistics ] ] .

The top 30 airports are classified by the FAA as large hubs. The airports ranked 31-50 are classified as medium hubs. The total number of boardings for large hubs in 2006 was 511,136,492. The total number of boardings for medium hubs in 2006 (including 17 airports not listed below) was 145,807,186.
