Wagdi language

The Wagdi language is one of the Bhil languages. As such it is part of the Indo-Aryan family of languages. It is spoken by approximately 920,000 people according to the Joshua Project. Ethnologue puts the number of Wagdi speakers at 1.6 million in 1997.

Other names for Wagdi are Wagadi, Vagdi, Vagadi, Vagari, Vageri, Vaged, Vagi, Wagari, Waghari, Wagri, Wagholi and Mina Bhil. There are three dialects of Wagdi. They are Kherwara, Sagwara and Adivasi Wagdi.

Although sometimes referred to as Bagdi, it should not be confused with the Bagdi dialect of the Haryanvi language of India. [http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=bgc]
