Ronnie Dove

Ronnie Dove (b. September 7, 1937, Herndon, Virginia) is an American country musician.

Dove first began performing in Baltimore pubs, where he played with his group The Belltones. They recorded the single "Lover Boy" in 1959 and covered Buddy Knox's "Party Doll" in 1963. [ [http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:gpfoxqr5ldhe~T1 Ronnie Dove] at Allmusic] Not long after this Dove left the group and moved to Nashville, where he signed to Diamond Records and scored a string of successful hits and albums in the middle of the 1960s. He lost popularity towards the end of the decade, but returned in the 1970s with recordings on Decca Records and Melodyland Records. In 1987, he re-signed with Diamond. He continued performing into the 2000s.
