Anthony Thornton (writer)

He was born in Cardiff in 1971 and in his career in journalism has worked with The Birmingham Post, dotmusic, The Independent and Q magazine. [http://www.anthonythornton.co.uk/bio.html (2008)]

Anthony studied for a Post Graduate Diploma in Periodical Journalism and graduated in 1997. While at studying at City University he was appointed Editor of the end of year magazine. [http://www.city.ac.uk/journalism/people/students/athornton.html]

From 1998-2003 he successfully edited NME.COM, [http://www.littlebrown.co.uk/Authors/T/2864 (2008)] it became Europe's most visited music news website under his editorship. In 2003 he was promoted to NME Reviews Editor and New Media Consultant.

In early 2006, Anthony's first book 'The Libertines: Bound Together' was the Sunday Times Top Ten best-selling.
