Francis Paget

The Rt Francis Paget (20 March, 1851 - 2 August, 1911) was the 33rd Bishop of Oxford from 1901 until his death. [ "Death Of The Bishop Of Oxford" The Times Thursday, Aug 03, 1911; pg. 8; Issue 39654; col E ] He was educated at Shrewsbury and Christ Church, Oxford [ “Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . Ordained priest he became preacher at Whitehall in 1882 and Vicar of Bromsgrove in 1885. An eminent scholar [His works include "The Redemption of War" (1900), "The Spirit of Discipline" (1903) and "Everlasting Punishment" (1906)British Library catalogue accessed 16:59 21 August, 2008] ,he was subsequently "Regius Professor of Pastoral Theology" at the University of Oxford and Dean at his old college.
