Layne Beaubien

Layne Beaubien is an American water polo player. He is a member of the United States men's national water polo team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics [ [http://www.usawaterpolo.org/NationalTeams/MensNationalTeam.aspx USA Water Polo Men's National Team] ] . In the championship game, the USA team won the silver medal, defeated by Hungary.

Layne was the second leading scorer for Team USA at the Beijing Games and is considered one of the best all-around players in the world. He boasts arguably the strongest shooting arm on the team and is a dominant defensive force. Layne has played professionally in Europe since 1999 in Hungary and Greece. He was born and raised in Coronado, California and went to Stanford University.
