Texas Forensic Association

The Texas Forensic Association (TFA) is an organization meant to provide competition in speech, debate, and drama for all qualified high school Texas students.

Texas Forensic Association provides numerous forensics competitions nearly every weekend in various locations in Texas for the duration of the forensics season, which lasts from the beginning of the school year (early August) until the end of February. The season culminates to the TFA State Tournament in early March. The TFA State Tournament takes place at a different Texas high school each year and lasts approximately 3 days. It is a competition of all Texas Qualified Students.

Texas Forensic Association is consistently among the largest state speech and debate tournaments in the United States. Each year TFA has well over 1,000 qualifications.

The Texas Forensic Association offers the following events for qualification to the State Tournament: Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking (FX), Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking (DX), Original Oratory (OO), Humorous Interpretation (HI), Dramatic Interpretation (DI), Duet Acting (DA), Duo Interpretation (DUO), Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD), Policy Debate {Cross Examination: CX}, and Student Congress (Stu-Co).
