"Skip Beat!" by Yoshiki Nakamura is currently being published in Japan by
Hakusensha. It is being serialized in the magazine Hana to Yume since February of 2005. In North America it is being published by the "Shojo Beat" label. There are currently 19 volumes as of July 17, 2008 out in Japan and as of September 2, 2008 14 volumes have been released in North America by Viz Media.

This is a list of the chapters and volumes of the manga version of "Skip Beat", along with the dates of publication. The chapters are untitled unless otherwise noted.

Summary = Kyoko's life has always revolved around her true love show and due to him asking, she followed him to Tokyo. She works three jobs just to support him and never buys anything for herself.One day when Kyoko wants to pay Sho a visit she overhears him talking with his manager Shoko, that the reason why he left for Tokyo was because his parents were going to make him marry a girl with no sex appeal who doesn't even wear makup, refearing to Kyoko, and that the only reason he brought her to Tokyo was to be used as a maid. Suddenly, Kyoko snaps and tries to get Sho, but is carried away by security. She states that she will get her revenge on him and he last words to her are that if she wants to have revenge, join show biz. After this she sell's all her Sho Fuwa stuff, uses the money to dye and cut her hair, and moves out of her expensive apartment to Darumaya, quiting all her jobs. She then decides to go to LME to try to meet with a "bigwig" so she can instantly become famous. Mr. Sawara, a bigwig happens to be passing by so she sits down with him. He asks her what section she wants to be in but then she says she has n interest in being in any of the sections. Mr. Sawara then tries to throw her out because he thinks that she just wants to see Ren when he sudddenly appears. After Ren hears about her, she is thrown out. But she doen't give up and after four days of harrasing Mr. Sawara, he tells her that she can audition at the newcomers audition in five days. Kyoko is excited and as she is walking bumps into Ren. He asks her if she's auditioning and says guts aren't everything and if rude to her, so now she has a grudge against him. Finally the day of the auditions arrive. Kyoko talent at radish peeling amazes the judges, but after her reaction test, she doen't quilify to the next round and after a talk with Mr. Sawara learns that she lacks "love" an essential things for celeberties to have. She then leaves and the little girl Maria asks about what happened to her. Then we see the presindent looking at her application again and the next day has second thought about her. The next day she comes down from her room saying she is gonna give up on being a celebrity and find a job, but Taisho convinces her not to, and it ends with the president telling Mr. Sawara if she comes back, she can work there.
